How to Use Google or Bing to Grow Your Business ~ Scott Andrew Alpaugh

We have talked about various ways to utilize IT to grow your business and will continue to do so, but there are also simple steps to take.  Let's back up a moment and review the basic things you can do to use the two largest and most popular search engines to grow your business. I'm referring to Google and Bing which are two of the most popular in the world. They can help you grow your business by increasing your online visibility, driving more traffic to your website, and generating more leads and sales. Here are some steps to use Google or Bing effectively for your business:

  • Create a Google My Business or Bing Places account and verify your business information. This will help you appear in local search results and maps and allow customers to leave reviews and ratings. It is also a good idea to just go ahead and ask your satisfied customer to drop by and leave you a review.
  • Optimize your website for search engines by using relevant keywords, titles, descriptions, and images. You can use tools like Google Analytics or Bing Webmaster Tools to analyze your website performance and identify areas for improvement.  I know we have talked about this ad nauseam but it's so very important.
  • Use Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising to create and run paid campaigns that target your ideal customers. You can choose from different types of ads, such as search, display, video, or shopping, and set your budget and goals. You can also track and measure your results using the same tools as above.
  • Use Google My Business or Bing Places posts to share updates, offers, events, or news with your customers. These posts will appear on your business profile and in search results, and can help you engage with your audience and drive more actions.
  • Use Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools to submit your sitemap, monitor your site health, and fix any issues that might affect your ranking. You can also use these tools to discover new keywords, optimize your content, and understand how users interact with your site.
I hope these few tips can help guide you in the right direction.  They are simple tasks that you can begin now even if you cannot do the SEO & web optimization yet the free advertising you get from setting up your business on Bing Places or Google My Business can prove invaluable!  Thank you so much for visiting my blog and I hope you are enjoying the content!
